A Few Words with our Kandystand Girl…
For our readers tell us a little bit about where you are from?
I am born and raised in Tampa, FL and still currently reside in Tampa. Known as the sunshine state, I couldn’t imagine having a “white winter”. I’ve never even seen snow before! I love being outdoors and enjoying the sun, hence to why I live and probably will never leave, the sunshine state!
You are one of the nicest and most bubbly girls we have ever met. Do you get that a lot from other people?
Funny you say that, I do actually, all the time from my customers at work. I try to stay as positive as possible, you only have one life to live and you have to make the best of it! I try to enjoy every minute of my life, now I understand we all have our ups and downs and our angry moments but you can’t let that affect how you are towards others. I believe if I’m happy and outgoing and bubbly, that hopefully that will rub off on others, or even brighten someone else’s day.
Tell us about your photo shoot in Cancun, how was it?
I feel that I can read people and their personalities well, and Lee and I hit it off right off the bat! I believe chemistry between a photographer and model is extremely important, you have to feel comfortable with your photographer otherwise it could ruin the outcome of your photo. Lee and I clicked right away, I was comfortable, we had similar ideas and concepts of what look we were going for, and he just made it easy for me.
Cancun is definitely a great place to travel and vacation too, do you get the opportunity to travel a lot? Where are some of your favorite places to travel too?
Lately, my opportunity for traveling has gone through the roof and I am beyond excited! Some of my favorite places that I have recently gotten the chance to travel too would be Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Chicago. Montego Bay’s waters were absolutely breathtaking and Chicago was the first northern state I’ve been to and I was able to experience a little northern winter while I was there. On the other hand, I would love to travel to Greece, Australia, New York and LA. There is quiet a few places left on my travel list!
We understand that you are really into fitness, can you tell us a little bit about that and what drew you to being a fitness guru of sorts.
Well, all my life I was extremely thin. I was made fun of in school for being “too skinny”. So, one day I decided to change that and the only way was to workout and gain muscle, because as we know, muscle weights more then fat. One day I had my father take me to the gym with him and show me exactly how every machine works. After that, I was consistent in going to the gym and once I started noticing progress and I started to gain weight, I was addicted! I would be excited to look up new workout routines and different ideas to work certain muscle groups. I loved going into the gym the next day and trying out my ideas and routines. And I found that to be a huge stress reliever for me.
Are you working towards getting your personal trainers license?
Yes, and I am extremely excited and anxious. I would love to one day open up my own gym, aside from modeling.
Is there a particular clientele you would like to work with – be it women, elderly, rehabilitation?
I want to first start out with mostly women. I remember when I first started going to a gym I was very intimidated and confused. I want to be able to help women feel confident in the gym. I also have a lot of my girl friends ask me to train them and give them some new ideas. So I feel women clientele would be a great start for me.
Lee mentioned you had something he called, “THE LOOK” can you tell us about what he meant by that?
Haha, like I said before, I felt comfortable with Lee and he brought this “LOOK” in me. I get into this zone, and I try and picture myself behind the camera instead of in front; imagining how this photo looks and how I want it to look, which in turn brings out “the LOOK”. It’s a serious yet sexy face that I really use my eyes in to dominate the photo.
HAHAHA, that’s great we can definitely see what he meant by that.
Everyone has goals and different aspirations for themselves, do you have any in-particular, be it in fitness or in modeling?
My goal in life is to model full-time, and even personal train on the side. I love to multitask, and I incorporate the gym into my daily routine anyways so might as well shoot for both full time! As I step foot into the modeling world I am ecstatic to be shooting and having the opportunities of being published in magazines. I have already made it into the Kandy Family; my next goal is to shoot for Sports Illustrated!
If you were to have a dream shoot anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to shoot in New Zealand or France during the winter, in the snow during a sunset.
What’s next for you, do you have anything coming up in the near future that you would like to mention or plug?
I have a ton events and opportunities coming up with my IBMS Family; lots of traveling – Dominican Republic, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Jamaica and many more. Also, I will be participating in the International Hooters Swimsuit Pageant in mid-July.
