King James has brought his show to Los Angeles. After two stints in Cleveland and a layover in South Beach, this generations’ best player has gone Hollywood. One just has to tune in to a game and note the celebrities sitting courtside. Jack is back. The recent Rockets vs Lakers game was filled with celebs: Kate Beckinsale, Kendall Jenner, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Anthony Kiedis and Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Jonah Hill were a few of the names who came out to see King James.
Of course, the answer to the question all NBA fans want to know the answer to is when will Lebron bring a title back to LA? We can say with 99% certainty that the answer to the question for this season is not this year. However, look for the purple and gold to be hoisting that Championship trophy in 2020.
As long as Magic stays the course and retains Luke Walton as his head coach, need we remind everyone what Walton accomplished on an interim basis when he was coaching the Warriors in Steve Kerr’s absence, and doesn’t kick him to the curb in favor of Tyron Lue, Laker fans will be rejoicing soon.
As someone who admired the Showtime Lakers of the 80s with Magic leading the show and Worthy and Cooper on the wings, Kareem down low and Byron Scott plugging away from outside, I look forward to seeing who Magic will bring in for wingmen for Lebron. This season may not result in a championship in Los Angeles, but one just needs to look at the celebrities courtside and realize that Showtime has returned to Los Angeles.
